We are the LMS
You’ll find our purpose-built facility at the heart of the world-leading biomedical hub at the Imperial College Hammersmith Campus.
Here’s how to find us
Enter the Hammersmith Hospital area through the east gate on Du Cane Road and follow the path around to the LMS building entrance.
MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences
Google maps will not take you to the LMS building, but to the centre of the postcode at the middle of the Hammersmith Campus or Hammersmith Hospital, so once you reach the campus, enter via the East Gate entrance and follow the road past the ICTEM building on the left, and under the Commonwealth Building straight ahead of you, until you see the LMS in front of you.
The easiest way to reach our front door is using what3words, which has mapped the world into 3m² blocks, and is therefore more accurate than the postcode.
Our what3words address is drift.behave.index

Using apps
The official Transport for London (TfL) website is here. You can download the TfL app for Apple or Android, or for wider coverage outside the Greater London Tfl network, including ports, try Citymapper. The easiest way to pay for using the London Transport Network is a contactless card – your own bank card, or you can purchase a TFL “Oyster card.” You will be charged on a pay-as-you-go basis, and the daily amount is capped.
Bus
The number 7, 70, 72, 272 and 283 buses all stop at Hammersmith Hospital Stop E on Du Cane Road which is opposite the entrance to the Hammersmith Campus where the MRC LMS building is located.
If you are a staff member travelling from an Imperial campus at St Mary’s Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, or South Kensington you can take the Hopper bus. See here for more details and a timetable.
