About me:
Kezia is an Imperial President’s PhD Scholar in the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences, supervised by Professor Declan O’Regan, Professor Michael Inouye (University of Cambridge), and Professor Ewan Birney (EMBL-EBI). Her research focuses on causal machine learning to understand how genetic and environmental factors interact to influence health and disease. She is particularly interested in population diversity and the generalisability of genomic research, with a focus on understanding how gene–environment relationships extend beyond populations of European ancestry.
Before joining Imperial, Kezia worked as a Bioinformatics Manager at Indonesia’s largest pharmaceutical company, where she developed commercially available genomic tests tailored to the Indonesian population and led the bioinformatics team.
Kezia holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Informatics from Harvard Medical School, where she graduated with First Class honours.
We explore the mechanisms underlying heart disease by applying machine learning and data science techniques to capture complex traits in the heart, across diverse populations, for discovering genetic and environmental determinants of health. Our work aims to understand the mechanisms driving diversity in heart disease.
