About me:
I joined the LMS with a keen interest in cancer biology and experience with the Drosophila melanogaster model. In the Metabolism and Cell Growth lab I have been able to combine these two interests in a project on diet-induced obesity and cancer progression, using the Drosophila hindgut tumour model.
We investigate the complex interactions between metabolic disease and cancer progression. Our research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms by which tumours rewire their metabolism and adapt to systemic metabolic changes associated with obesity and diabetes.
