About me:
I am a Hepatologist and Chain Florey Transition to Independence Fellow. The aim of my work is to understand why people develop fatty liver disease, with a longer term goal of findings better treatments for the disease. I lead the Study into Rare Forms of Steatotic Liver Disease, working with collaborators across the UK to recruit patients who develop a fatty liver despite being young or thin.
The cellular stress group was formed in 1992, and the team led by David Carling aims to understand the physiological role of the AMP-activated protein kinase cascade in metabolism.
