£30,911 – £32,843 plus £5,385 London Allowance per annum
About the role
The purpose of the role is to support cutting edge science by monitoring and advising on laboratory health & safety and regulatory compliance issues, specifically working with the LMS staff and other stakeholders. The function of the role is to ensure the safe working environment at the main LMS building and in its ICTEM and Mansfield building laboratories. Please note that this is an on-site role with limited opportunities for home working.
About You
You are a proactive and enthusiastic team player who demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the smooth running of LMS’ dynamic research environment. You must be able to prove they are acquainted with and understand UK’s Health and Safety and related laws by anticipating and acting on a wide range of workplace hazards, including office based, laboratory based, fire and public events.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with hazards present in biomedical research laboratories. Holding a NEBOSH certificate or being able to show progress towards certification is desirable. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential and proficiency in Microsoft software is highly desirable.
