About me:
I am a Chain Florey Clinical Research Training Fellow based between the LMS and Manchester University’s NHS Foundation Trust. My research focuses on the use of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for precise hormone measurements and the translation of novel research tests into routine clinical practice. My work is supported by UKRI.
The Arlt lab, which focusses on the role of steroid metabolism and action in human disease, moved to the LMS in 2023. Our work explores tissue-specific regulation of steroid action with a focus on the role of androgens in metabolic dysfunction. We are very interested in mechanisms that explain sex differences in the impact of androgens on metabolism.
