BHF Clinical Research Fellow
About me:
I am a specialist registrar in Cardiology and am currently undertaking a PhD funded through a British Heart Foundation Centre of Excellence: AI in Cardiovascular Science Fellowship, under the supervision of Prof Sanjay Prasad, Prof Declan O'Regan and Prof James Ware. My current research focuses on precision phenotyping of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), using integration of advancing imaging and genetic data, for improved risk prediction. I am based at the Cardiovascular Research Centre at the Royal Brompton Campus and the MRC LMS, Hammersmith Campus. My research is supported by UKRI.
We explore the mechanisms underlying heart disease by applying machine learning and data science techniques to capture complex traits in the heart, across diverse populations, for discovering genetic and environmental determinants of health. Our work aims to understand the mechanisms driving diversity in heart disease.
We aim to understand the genetic basis of cardiovascular disease in order to both reveal disease mechanisms, thereby identifying new therapeutic targets, and to interpret genomic information for application in patient care.
