She/her
Lab Manager
About me:
"In my role as Laboratory Manager, I keep our analytical lab running smoothly and efficiently, especially when it comes to developing and using LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry) methods. My work involves both hands-on technical tasks and broader management responsibilities, like:
Quality Assurance & Compliance: I’m dedicated to maintaining strict quality control, ensuring that everything we do meets both clinical and regulatory standards. This way, we’re confident that our data is always accurate and reliable.
Operational Efficiency: I focus on making our lab workflows as efficient as possible, balancing high throughput with the careful attention each sample deserves.
Project Management: I coordinate projects from start to finish, making sure they’re aligned with both our lab’s goals and our clinical needs."
The vitamin D bioanalysis group at the LMS was formed in 2023. The team lead by Carl Jenkinson aims to understand the role of vitamin D metabolism and function on human physiology and health using mass spectrometry applications.
The Arlt lab, which focusses on the role of steroid metabolism and action in human disease, moved to the LMS in 2023. Our work explores tissue-specific regulation of steroid action with a focus on the role of androgens in metabolic dysfunction. We are very interested in mechanisms that explain sex differences in the impact of androgens on metabolism.
