MRC Band 2 Salary: £61,747 – £75,039 per annum inclusive of allowances

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our continuing success, and to work alongside world leaders in medical research and helping them to unlocking the full potential of our people. We are looking for a dynamic individual with a focus on excellent customer service and who enjoys creative problem solving.

  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills are essential with evidence of the ability to influence effectively at all levels
  • You will have a strong commitment to equality and diversity and providing proactive support for colleagues at all levels of the organisation, advising managers, including the Director, on employment issues including recruitment, performance management and contractual issues
  • Development and coaching of group leaders, including monitoring of performance, and academic promotion
  • Management of the People and Culture team
  • Managing the implementation of new ways of working within LMS, including a new ERP system

Applicants should be CIPD qualified or have previous equivalent experience and proven leadership experience in a People and Culture/ HR role within a publicly funded research organisation or higher education setting. You will have sound knowledge and experience of the application of UK employment law and regulations, together with comprehensive knowledge of general People practices
