Salary: £32,782 – £47,064 inclusive of allowances

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow position in the Psychiatric Imaging Group at the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences, located at Hammersmith Hospital campus of Imperial College London. This will be on a 1 year fixed term contract with the potential for an MD/PhD depending on eligibility and progress.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop expertise in psychosis research. The post is most suitable for trainees with an interest in psychiatry/neuroscience/ imaging.

The Psychiatric Imaging Group’s research, led by Professor Oliver Howes, focuses on understanding the causes of mental illnesses and improving their treatment using PET and other functional imaging techniques. The Psychiatric Imaging Group has strong links with the Institute of Psychiatry and some projects will be carried out there. Opportunities for a higher degree (eg PhD) are available to eligible and suitably motivated candidates (subject to progress).

The minimum requirement for this post is MBBS or equivalent. Appropriate training will be given where necessary, although candidates with experience in psychiatry/neuroscience &/or neuroimaging expertise are particularly encouraged to apply.

The post requires excellent communication skills, report writing skills and attention to detail.
