LMS WIP Seminar – Alexis Barr

Measure, model, manipulate: understanding control of cell cycle entry in human cells”

Cell cycle control is vital for normal development and tissue homeostasis, yet our understanding of this control has been hampered by heterogeneity in cell cycle decision-making. I will introduce the work I did during my postdoc understanding the causes and consequences of cell cycle heterogeneity. I will demonstrate the strength of using quantitative, single-cell, time-lapse imaging to understand cell cycle control and the novel insights that this approach can provide. Finally, I will discuss some of the work that we have started at the LMS.
